The front fork leak is getting worse so I have started on replacing those

    [IMG][/IMG]

Got the first fork off and realised I need a tool for inserting seals back into fork so have ordered that. should be here early next week

You cant see it in photo but i do have bricks and timber supporting sump on RHS as well as jack. The exhaust isn't actually touching the timber.

Fork Seals are done which means the bike is pretty much complete. Just needs to be re-vinned to make it road legal.
I thought I would just finish up with a bit of a cost summary to enlighten those that may wish to do something similar.

As you will remember from the first post I bought this bike and an 1150EFE together in 1 lot with a bunch of spares
      Cost - $900
      Truck hire $100
I have since sold 2 of the spare engines for $650 and a spare airbox for $70

This makes total purchase cost of $280 so $140 per bike

In terms of costs for upgrades / repairs to bike in original configuration there is
      Paint - $140 4 cans, 3 colours + clear coat
Engine work getting spark plug removed / head plane / heli-coils - $450

So we are up to approx $750

It was only the upgrading to front and rear ends that caused costs to escalate

I had the USD front end and wheel lying around but they had cost $700
Front wheel discs, calipers & front master cylinder - $200
      Front tyre - $120
      Speedo cable & drive - $60
      Rear wheel - $130
      Rear tyre - $120
Rear caliper and mounting bracket - $75
      530 Chain conversion, chain + 2 sprockets - $300

So all up - approx $2500

Excellent deal I reckon and all the wheel / suspension upgrades can be transferred to another bike if it blows up or i want to sell it.
And I still have a bunch of spare parts

I will start another thread on the 1150 EFE upgrade shortly. Not nearly as convoluted as this one as it is staying near original. I have done a bit already so wont take long to finish

Certainly couldn’t buy one that nice for that. Nice work.

Good job: I have an affinity for 1150's. I'm just glad to see another one on the road.
