2 weeks earlier, Yaakov won her first race at my local track Ridge in Washington, another near previous win @ Road America, but passed on a waving yellow flag, so the rules bit her, then this happens @ Laguna, turn 5?
I was there today doing a Ridge trackday, super hot for us whiny/fussy PNW folks. Last trackday in June was 30 degrees cooler for the high temp than today.
Apparently Kayla is the first gal to win a race in MA (Moto America). Elena Meyers was the only other gal, pre-MA to win one I think @ Sonoma (Sears Point).

I'm thinking they locked hand guards. Their protective design backfired.
Something I heard from a Danilo Petrucci interview about Moto America: American race tracks are car tracks. So their surfaces are rather crude and dangerous compared to European motorcycle tracks.
He's been racing all the best racks in the world, so I can understand his disappointment.
It would be nice to ride on tracks that were strictly for bikes.
Seems his unsurmountable problem in MotoGP was his size, just too tall and heavy to gain a tenth on the straights.Last edited by Buffalo Bill; 07-12-2022, 07:59 AM.1982 GS1100G- road bike

Since it's hot at home, mid 80's & hotter the last several days, trying to stay outta the sun.
Honestly have no desire to ride when it's 70 degrees or warmer when leaving home.
Lot's of distracted idiots on the road these days, so riding in my area is way less pleasant.
Enjoyed watching Motoamerica @ Brainerd Minnesota, some epic battling going on.
Super sad a father racer passed away from a riding practice incident on Friday.
However, the sentiment was to continue, as that's what the rider who passed, would want.
Great battles in all classes with some unfortunate issues battling for the win.
Not often does a complete fork & front wheel get ripped off a bike, while leading by 3 seconds +.
Also in WSBK, Mr. Rea, has more people messing with him, then in the recent past 5-6 years.

Yes, roads here are more crowded now than in spring and fall, except early Sunday mornings.
Spoils my commitment to a turn with the likelihood of oncoming vehicles in the apex.
Because of lush summer foliage here, all curves and corners are blind. Around the corner may be a deer crossing, bicyclists or people walking.
We may seem fast and reckless to most drivers and cruise riders, but sport riding on these roads is low speed compared to on track.
My favorite roads are mostly empty of cruisers, and I never see other sport riders on them.
Fact is I ONLY see sport riders on highways. I have to think they only understand straight lines and high speed.1982 GS1100G- road bike

A month & half old, (WSBK Donington) but wow, some aggressive racing battles going on in WSBK.
Unfortunate repetitive Merrill ads spoiling the action, but the tire grip confidence is unbelievable.
Worth a gander for a few minutes anyway.

"Well that's all Folks!" Alex Rins won the final race but we never got to see it???
Bummer, for the final 5 laps all cameras were following Bagnaia in 9th place…boring
By by Suzuki, in a flaky knee jerk panic, abandons MotoGP and superbike racing.1982 GS1100G- road bike

I don't know all the particulars, but supposedly Suzuki didn't take on as many sponsors as most other teams, thus they footed more of the financial load themselves. Apparently, Suzuki wanted to be in complete control...which cost them, and ultimately led to them leaving, because it was too expensive.Ed
