El Mirage, CA — May 14-15, 2011. Kosman-sponsored racer Jim Hoogerhyde of San Francisco, CA sets a new land speed record in the S.C.T.A. APS-F 1000 class on May 14. Jim urged his fully faired GSXR1000 Suzuki over the challenging one-mile-long dry lake bed course to a recorded 203.149 mph on a 202.124 mph record that stood since 2001. Jim also set a record in the AG-1000 class on his unfaired bike (181 mph) on a 172 mph record standing since 2010. Congratulations to Jim on earning the coveted SCTA “Dirty Twos” burgundy hat, only given to riders setting a record above the double-century mark!

how about this record set sunday up here in Maine... I was going to go up sunday too, but everyone else bailed on me and I didn't want to go alone. *sigh*
