    gs 1085 with fcr 39 carbs

    I have a gs 1000 now 1085. wiseco piston, big valves, mega cycle cams, head job its an old formula 1 bike back from the real times. it works perfect with my vm 33 carbs but the machine should take bigger carbs so i got a pair of fcr 39 but it is totally dead it the lower register over say 8ooo rev there is no problems but its impossible to drive like that in rr. with the fcr 39 I get 118 hp on the rearwheel and that's fine but I cant use them .

    so my question is there anyone who drive with 39 fcr and get it to work ??

    Fcr 39's are too big for road use on your setup. You have increased the cross section area by 40% over the 33's. Try a set of RS34's or 36's instead. The 34's will give you heaps more mid range torque.

    118 hp is impressive, but not when you're flat before 8K.

      The 33's would be perfect. Why did you bother to change them?
      Either that or use the 34 or 36 CV carbs that 49er suggested.

        On a race engine with a good cylinder head & cams, the 33s can be a little small & restrictive. Look for a set of Mikuni RS 36s of FCR 35s.
