That would be awesome if he came back... but I don't see similar info anywhere else? I can't stand the V8's so was destined never to see him race again... to be honest I was a little disappointed he didn't come back and join the Aussie Superbike scene like Kevin Curtain did. That would've been really good for a struggling series...1982 GS450E - The Wee Beastie

Double world champion Casey Stoner will make a dramatic return to MotoGP action next month when he tests a factory Honda RC213V at the Twin Ring Motegi track in Japan, MCN can reveal. The outspoken but blindingly fast Australian, who retired from MotoGP immediately after the final race of 2012 in Valencia last November, will take part in a two-day test on August 6-7 at the Honda-owned track. An official announcement from HRC confirming the testing plan will be released tomorrow (Tuesday). The test is one of four scheduled over the coming weeks that Stoner will fit in around his V8 Supercar commitments in Australia. Stoner’s speed and experience will be used to help HRC technical staff on development of the 2014 factory RC213V. And Honda insiders say he will also evaluate the performance potential of a new production 1000cc racer that the Japanese factory will make available next year. The forthcoming test session is certainly not just Stoner turning up for a quick play on a 260bhp1978 GS1085.

He's not "back" he's still under contract to Honda, so he's lending some expertise to their technical guys on the new bikes
If he races at Phillip Island, then I need better sources1978 GS 1000 (since new)

So everyone's denying he'll make a comeback as such and is only doing 8 days of testing in total... guess we'll just have to wait and see hey?1982 GS450E - The Wee Beastie

Casey Stoner is a swollen headed jack-off. Who else in the world would bitch about having a dream job, making good money and getting your way on your team. Poor sod... you have to sign autographs once in a while and do interviews with the press. **** off you spoiled brat!

what really pi$$ed Stoner off at the end of 2012 was Repsol only offered him $10m to renew his contract and that was less than Ducati were paying Rossi, which was more than Ducati were paying Stoner when he was riding the Dukes.1978 GS1085.

Lucky sod! How good was it to see Marquez do a Stoner on Rossi (like Stoner did on Lorenzo last year around the outside towards the corkscrew) and then do a Rossi on Rossi through the corkscrew?
As for Stoner being whinger... yeah he has his moments, but why would you keep doing something you no longer get enjoyment from? And I agree with him on the rules they're introducing... MotoGP bikes shouldn't be lapped!1982 GS450E - The Wee Beastie

Just like Valentino Rossi's move on Casey Stoner in 2008, we will be talking about Marc Marquez getting past Rossi through the dirt of the Laguna Seca Corkscrew for some time to come. With some retrospect, Marquez's move on Rossi might be the defining moment for where the young Spaniard replaced the veteran Italian as MotoGP's darling, but until that passing of the torch has been solidified with more duration, we will refer to the pass as just one of racing's most epic moments in recent memory. Time will define Marquez, as well as the US GP; but until then, we'll just bask in the moment a bit longer. Photos of Marc Marquez pulling a Rossi on Valentino Rossi are after the jump.

Like a lot of people, we don't like having to tolerate bullsh!t. Australians in particular seem to have a short fuse for it, at least the ones I know anyway.
I don't think its a coincidence that both Stoner and Webber have retired at the peak of their careers after facing situations that are unacceptable to them.
Webber in particular I feel for, his press release post race after his teammate illegally passed him - and received no penalty for despite being counter to team orders - was particularly devastating. "No comment; no comment; no comment." He looked like he could have killed someone, but he kept his calm and, later, made a rational decision to quit.
I like racing at amateur level, there are no (or by far fewer!) beurocratic bungles and everyone is there to have a good time, not just win.

I was streaming the race back on the BBC when I thought, hmm I was about there 4-5 laps after the race started and with a couple of freeze frames...
I was also right in front of the Corkscrew camera when Joe played the US Anthem but of course the BBC didn't play that bit!
I was wearing my "red bull" take-off t-shirt from the Hustler store, pretty easy to pick out.... You can see I'm taking pics/video above my head so I have the pictures looking back at the camera too. Pretty cool1980 GS1000G - Sold
