Whole thing was pathetic,swapping bikes? wtf.Sort of goes against the ethos of racing,just because you can do the fastest lap doesnt mean you gonna win the race.whats the next step drop it to a quarter mile?because the tyres cant last any longer.
Surely a tyre change during the race would be the fairest approach cause its all the same for everyone on the track and would it not be fairer to return to the ethos of its partly an endurance race of riding in a style that ensure the machine can complete the distance even if it means its not at the max poss speed?

MotoGP bikes lack quick change wheel hardware
Plus, the carbon brakes must be matched
And, teams have no hot pit equipment
I doubt that a 10 minute pit stop would have been good for racing
I think the penalty was too harsh, a drive thru would have sufficed
If they docked MM points, he would have to start from pit lane at Motegi per current MotoGP rules
Pretty ridiculous situation. They needed a tire test at PI waay before the MotoGP race, what with the new tarmac (which was the problem) and all1978 GS 1000 (since new)

The whole thing was as weak as pi$$ .
The tyre manufacturers knew they had a problem from the first round of the Superbikes in March .
They had plenty of time to come up with good rubber .
Bridgestone should have been penalised .
Open it back up to all the tyre manufacturers I say .
But ................ the next two races are gonna be good .
I bet a Spaniard wins the title .

The decision was made after the rubber came off the rims and the heavy blistering on the INSIDE of the tyres became evident. I think the black flag was necessary, and I hope MM doesn't take it this year.
