Making brackets to tie down my front end for dragracing
I'd like to see some pics of the brackets you made to tie down the front end of your bike when you go dragracing. I'm looking for something simple but safety first of course.80 gs1100 16-v ported & polished, 1 mm oversize intake valves, 1150 carbs w/Dynojet stage 3, plus Bandit/gsxr upgradesTags: None

They are chinch straps with a cam buckle and ends to bolt to the brake caliper the goes over the frame right behind the triple tree stem. I just hit my front brake while sitting on the bike and pull on the strap to tighten it as the front end dives down a couple of pulls and I am where I want it to be in height. I use zip ties to keep the slack from flapping in the wind and tangling up or melting on the exhaust. I have mine installed so the cam buckle is on the left side so I can pull it tight with my left hand while my right hand can use the front brake. I do this while in the staging lanes just before I make a pass then loosen them after the run. I also have never taken them off after installing them as they are on while riding on the street just not tight. I do have a shorter kick stand so I could keep them tight at the track but I don't like keeping the pressure on the fork seals for long periods of timeMy stable

Straps work I guess. Cheap and effective. But some tracks have outlawed them due to the possibility if popping loose going through the traps and at speed /They catch air under you and can cause poss. a crash or loss of control with the sudden rising up into the air stream, Just check with tech and see if they are allowed at your track. They act a stabilizer also which is a good thing.sigpic 82 gs1100ez 1168 Wiseco,Web .348 Cams,Falicon Sprockets,Star Racing Ported Head,1mm o/s Stainless Valves,APE Springs,Bronze Guides, etc.APE Billet Tensioner,36CV Carbs,Stage 3 Dynojet,Plenum w/K&N filter,Trued,Welded,Balanced,Crank w/Katana rods & Billet left end, FBG backcut trans, VHR HD Clutch basket,APE nut,VHR High volume oil pump gears,1150 Oil cooler,V&H Megaphone header w/Competition baffle,Dyna S,Coils,Wires, etc.Other misc.mods.
