    GSXR1000 vs GS1100 Video from 2013

My buddy finally gave me the video from 2.5 years ago.
I made 10 passes this night, and Chris made 5-6 before he fried his clutch.
    My best was a 11.5 at 118. His was 10.4 at 146.
    2007 GSXR 1000 roadrace bike
1982 GS1100E (stock airbox, stock carbs, stock motor, V&H 4-1 pipes)

I remember I didn't know where the finish line was because we were looking right into the sun. Once it was dark I realized I was racing way too far down the track.

Looks like you launch way better, much more low RPM torque, but the GSXR has way more RPM.
      Fun videos!

You definitely launch better. He's playing on horsepower alone.

Your 11.5 runs are right in there with the magazine tests back in the day. They generally ran the '80-'82 1100E models in the 11.1-11.4 second range.

The '83 model 1100ES, with the cams timed for more midrange than previous models, broke into the 10.8-11.0 range for a couple testers.

Stock GS1100 motor back then. I did re-jet for the V&H 4-1 street megaphone (still on the bike now)
                GSXR1100 swingarm (+3"?) GSXR1100 wheels. GS1150 front end.
I would think that the only advantage I had over a stock bike is a little longer swingarm, and the pipe.
That was before I swapped in the 1150 motor in 2014.

I was definitely getting a better launch than he was. Although he's geared for RR and 170-180 MPH. By the time he'd pass me it felt like I was standing still.
It's hard to tell what noise is coming from who, but I'm in 4th and he's just getting into wheelie zone in 2nd at 100.

Good times for sure. We're going to meet up here again real soon. This time he'll be on a 2007 SV1k.
