I watched the repeat stream that weekend.

Many good races, but watching Troy Corser bounce, skip and slide that BMW to victory was incredible.
Especially when he patted McPint's behind when passing.
John looked over at Troy and just shook his head.
Announcer said the supercharged BMW had 25 HP advantage over the British singles (which are 50-60 HP)
    1978 GS 1000 (since new)
1979 GS 1000 (The Fridge, superbike replica project)
    1978 GS 1000 (parts)
    1981 GS 850 (anyone want a project?)
    1981 GPZ 550 (backroad screamer)
    1970 450 Mk IIID (THUMP!)
    2007 DRz 400S

Few years back, we had a bunch of supercharged GP bikes out here and running. The BMW (Surtees had that one) sounded boring - just like any other BMW.
The Velocette Roarer sounded like any other parallel twin. But the AJS V4 (Sammy Miller riding) sounded like a smallblock chevy on straight pipes...
