Loud Fairing!
To quiet down the Windjammer fairing on my 850, my son suggested using "Dynamat" brand sound deadener, and indoor/outdoor carpet. The dynamat cost about $40 and the carpet cost about $4, along with some 3M Super 77 spray adhesive for the carpet that cost almost $8. I covered the surface of the fairing facing my fuel tank with the Dynamat, and then covered the Dynamat with the indoor/outdoor carpet. With what was left over of the Dynamat sound deadener, I then covered the front inside of the fairing. After all was finished a road test was in order, and I couldn't believe my ears! It's money well spent. If you have a Windjammer fairing, try it, you'll like it.Tags: None

i use earplugs all the time.
it quiets the big fairing rather well.
glad this fix worked out for you, though...
