Looking for a good long turm fix for cracked plastic (side panels). Take some shavings from a PVC pipe mix it with MEK (methal ethal keytone) It makes a great compound to use with glass cloth

I have had numerous side panels crack and the posts on side panel crack or break off, for a straight crack visable I use a glue called Ambroid PRO WELD I got from a plastic hobby shop, apply this from the non paint side as it will mess up the paint, I then make a stainless plate larger than the crack, I coat the stainless patch in a good epoxy and press it onto the crack (inside of the side panel where it can't be seen) for strength, I have never had one break again, You could also obtain ABS plastic sheet from a local plastic supplier 1/8th inch and if its on a curved side panel, you cut the ABS to size and put it on a piece of foil and place the ABS in the oven on warm, and when its soft and pliable pull it from the oven and place over the crack (it will form to the exact shape), let cool, it will cool quickly, then use the above proweld after roughing up the ABS and sidecover(inside)with sandpaper before gluing.This method works well with Vetter fairing repair. As a general rule plastic can never be as strong as new, once cracked, but with a backing plate of some kind you can get pretty close.
