torn vinyl backrest
I bought a luggage rack with a backrest a little while ago. It was pretty old so the vinyl on the backrest wasn't in the best shape. I've noticed lately that it's starting to come apart at the seams. Without getting it reupholstered, what ways do you suggest I go about repairing it? I don't care so much how it looks in the end, as long as it's not torn.Tags: None

I recovered a seat by cutting the threads out of the seams so I could have the pieces to use as a pattern then I bought upolstry fabric from wallmart for around $3.00 then cut the pieces out to the same size as the old ones. Then I used upolstry thread in wifes sewing machine :-D and sewed the new pieces together the same as the old ones were.
Your project would be so small and realy inexpensive. They usualy staple the upolstry into wood on those little backrest.
