    Aftermarket Backrest?

I am looking to put a backrest on my bike. I want new or NOS. Does anyone have any good tips and tricks for getting something that bolts on or is easily modified to bolt on?

Finding a new or NOS unit will be a bear. Another option is to find an old one on e-bay or a bone yard and have it powder coated. I had mine done in the same color as the painted insert on my tank and it looks great. The good part about that is you can get one that looks like hell cheap and for a few bucks it will look like new. Granted it wont be chrome, but leave that to the HD guys.

I got a Kuryakyn GranTour Bag , and it makes a nice backrest and a place to carry rain gear, or a gallon of milk on the way home from work. Works great on my GS 750 L with a sissy bar. I don't use the lumbar support they provide. I find it more comfortable without.
