liloaty, that's the correct size screw you'll need only assuming you have VM carbs (usually the 1979 and earlier models), since you're still keeping absolutely secret WHAT FREAKING KIND OF BIKE YOU HAVE?????????

    *pant* *gasp* *choke*

    Now then:
if you have BS carbs (these are the CV carbs generally found on 1980+ models and the earlier GS400 models), you'll need 5mm diameter screws, usually 5X16 for the bowls and 5X12 or 5X14 for the carb tops. You can usually go ahead and use 5X16 on the carb tops, but there might be one or two where they stick out too far and interfere with something.

The '91 GSXR1100 came with Mikuni RS 40mm Flat Sides.

Pretty different from the racks most of us are running, though the float bowls look similar. Couldn't find the info on bolts, though.

These are 36mm CV's. You sure all 91's came with RS 40mm, or do I have my year wrong?

Well, one of us is :-D, but I'm more skilled at searching the internet than identifying carbs, so I'm not too confident. Here's one of the links I found. Based on that info '89-90 had 36mm and they went to 40mm in '91.

You know, you could just go out into your garage and measure the bolts...

If you can't tell which diameter is which, buy a couple of samples at your local hardware emporium so you can compare. It's pretty easy to tell 4mm from 5mm or 6mm.

For the length, you can measure in situ easily enough.

That's the plan but I've been busy with work and school so I was hoping to get some numbers so I could just order the bolts and have them be there when I got some free time to work on the carbs...

I just ordered a set from here:

A little pricy at $16 bucks shipped but, what the heck...

Here what I posted about the carb bolts sizes off my 80 GS1100e back in 8/06.
