when you are changing your tires, make sure to use lube when you set the bead. really helps. couldnt figure out why it wasnt setting, put some more lube on and POP! it set.

Speaking of tire lube, I've been using car wash soap, dilluted with water, for tire mounting. Are there corrosion issues with using this stuff? The inside of the rims on my '82 (tubeless) looked pretty corroded when the tires were changed - had to scrub them down with coarse scotchbrite before mounting the new tires. Going to purchase some proper tire lube some day but just wondering...Ed

Yes, most detergents are corrosive, especially in the non diluted form. I know this because I have a few pressure washers. If I don't make sure and run clean water through them after syphoning soap, the next time I use it, there is rust in the lines.Originally posted by Nessism View Post

A bit of dish soap works well. Then, when you are done, use more dish soap to wash your hands. 8-[
