    Stripped drain plug fix.

I'v noticed a few posts looking for oil pans, because of stripped drain plugs. If you check, the threads are the same as a spark plug. Use a spark plug thread repair kit. Use the insert that is the same length as the drain plug. Use the tap provided to cut the threads for the insert into the pan. Put Never Seize on the drain plug and thread the insert onto the drain plug. Lightly coat the threads on the outside of the insert with JB Weld, and tighten to spec. The JB Weld locks and seals the steel insert into the pan, the Never Sieze keeps the insert from sticking to the drain plug. I've done this for several friends. You don't even have to pull the pan.
