How to start a bike without ignition (suzuki maurader)

From my original thread found here:

Junkyard has a suzuki maurader. Anyway to start it without having the ignition key?

What year? The first ones just need to have some wires crossed. Later models need a 100-ohm resistor put between those wires.

If it's old enough it should be a matter of crossing the red and orange wires together, and the gray and brown wires together. That's me making a couple of assumptions, though...better to know what year it is.

I don't know the year and neither do the junkyard guys. Heck I can't even see any stamp on the engine for size. All I can tell you is that it's a big twin. Maybe I can get a picture.

If the ignition has 4 wires all you need to do is connect them all together and you will have power (that's what the ignition switch does when it's on anyway).

          Good luck with it!
          Current:
Z1300A5 Locomotive (swapped my Intruder for it), GS450 Cafe Project (might never finish it....), XT500 Commuter (I know - it's a Yamaha )

          Past:
          VL1500 Intruder (swapped for Z1300), ZX9R Streetfighter (lets face it - too fast....), 1984 GSX750EF, 1984 GSX1100EF (AKA GS1150)
And a bunch of other crap Yamahas....

Does anyone know if the battery I have for my 700 work for trying to start it?

I dont know if it will work on yours, but on a gsx250 unplug the ignition and it will bump start and run.
