    reinstalling alternator cover

When I reinstalled my alternator cover, I used the long screws from the chain drive cover as guide pins. Worked very well to keep everything orderly and slide right into place. Ray

Before you remove the bolts, get a piece of cardboard, (like a cereal box) and use a felt pen to draw the approximate shape of the cover.

As bolts are moved push them through the cardboard in positions that match the drawing.

The bolts are of different lengths so this will provide you with an immediate guide as to where each bolt goes when re-assemling, plus you can use the trick mentioned above by temporarily placing one of the long bolts into a hole that you know accepts short bolts and then slide the cover into place.
