    Shocks

Where is the best place to find shocks for my 80 1100LT? Ive done a few searches but cant seem to find any that fit mine. Most say for 80 1100e's. Really dont have the funds for the good progressives but will be saving for them. I adjusted mine out all the way to handle a passenger but they still sink to low and make the front end feel like it is coming off the ground.
    I didnt do it I swear !!

These are the shocks for my 83 1100GL. I dunno if there is a difference, but i would imagine they are pretty similar. 75 bucks a pair isnt too shabby.

83 1100gl won't work. Shafties are eye to eye. Rob yours are eye to clevis and any 1100E will work. I might even have a set you can use that will work well untill you can afford progressives. Save your money. MDIs will bounce your skinny ass off the seat when one up. They're even a bit stiff for me on full preload and you know I'm no little guy

Yeah, wasnt sure if the L was a shaft or chain. I guess the only shafts were g models?

No actually. MoST of the Ls ARE shaft drive. The 1980 GS1100L however was a chain drive, 16 valve TSCC motor and only made in 80. The subsequent 1100Ls were all shaft and all 8valve. The only other Ls I'm aware of that were chain were the 80-82 8v 550L, 79 8v 750L, 80-82 16v 750L, and I think that's it. All the rest were shafties. Oh and in 83-85? There were the 16v 550Ls too. Chain drives.

Oh yeah. I guess then that makes the Ls more chains than shaft. Ok so most of the large Ls were shafties. How bout that?
