Yeah, I shot about 250 feet of film when it came in those 50 foot cartriges. So,..about 6 to 7 min of film with no sound other than the rattle of the projector.
Funny tho...I took it to a bike club meeting after I watched it a few times...it was funny to watch the 30 odd peoples heads in the audience leaning left and right in unison.
But how the h*** could I save that to my computer?

LOL! You actually would have to take it to a videographer or photo shop to have it converted to a DVD, etc. It's probably not worth whatever it would cost to do so, but it IS possible.

A lower tech solution would simply be to set up the old projector and then videotape it with your camcorder sitting on a tripod. You'd lose a little quality, but probably not too much, considering the original footage. Good for a chuckle, though!

Hmmmmm..........I *do* have one of those gadgets that you can record onto a VHS camera from a movie projector.....
might be worth looking into. hehehe

Well, if you get it on to a VHS tape it's an easy conversion to DVD if you know somebody who has a combo unit (VHS / DVD recorder). I have one, and would be happy to do the transfer for you, but the postage from CA to the US might be a little ridiculous for five minutes of video...

Another possibility is that you find somebody with a composite video to USB converter, that would let you take the VHS footage and feed it right in to your computer. I also have one (maybe two) of those, and if you want to buy my extra one (never used) we can work something out. I don't need it because I can feed composite video right to my combo unit and then digitize the resulting DVD directly to the computer.

Hmm, all greek to me I'm afraid. The video camera I have is that GoPro Hero you saw on my caseguard.
Whats one of those converter thingys worth? Maybe Bestbuy or Future Shop here would have it.
I was thinking just set up the projector and that converter box thing and film it with my GoPro.

For sure you should check out the local stores ... let them know what you have and they should be able to tell you the cheapest way to get the job done.
