    One of my Clutch Adjustment cover bolt heads broke off

    I just noticed it the other day and i really wanted to get in there to adjust my clutch but one of the heads was broken off clean! now to give you a mental picture its the clutch adjustment cover that comes off of the sprocket cover... these were all allen heads and i think i tightened one of the heads too much and now theres just no more head there.. easy out? last time i tried an easy out the bolt was to hard and all the easy out did was make a little groove and couldn't cut through... should i just take the thing to a shop and have them take it out? thanks for reading guys ANY ideas would be great except for welding because i might as well just take it toa shop..

    sheared off where it enters the case or juts the head broken off?

      Just the head is broken off everything else is there and i gotta say its definitely in there good because i guess it was tight enough to break the head off

        Bah... do you NEEED it? prolly not. If you want to get it out, a left handed drill bit would be keen. Or, start small, work your way up with bits, and bobs your uncle. A drill press would be mighty handy...

          hmm very true, so your saying just drill the crap out of it untill the whole thing is just a big hole? sounds good to me!

            noooooo Ideally you want the bolt to come out, while saving the threads... Eventually, if you use progressivly larger bits, with lots of PB Blaster, the bolt, or the shell of it, will come free, and HOPEFULLY not take the female threads with it... Otherwise, There be a helicoil in your future....arrrrrrrgh....

              kinda sounds like its broke off at the outer case?, then take all the other ones out, take the cover off and remove the broken (stud like )part thats left with vice grips

                before attempting o remove the bolt, I would advise gently tapping the end a little with a hammer and punch. I've had bolts where doing this breaks the corrosion bond between the two metals and lets the bolt unscrew a little easier. try it.

                  thank you guys very much i did what you all said and it came out, now i know not to tighten thing so hard and i use anti-seize now... once i got in the clutch adjustment area i turned in the rod a little bit and it has yet to slip on me while cold! thanks guys
