    Rain treatment for face shield?

Woohoo! I got some cash, moved, etc. and am fixing my final drive's oil seal in a couple days.
That means I'll get to ride soon again, and we get a lot of mist and rain up here.

How do you guys deal with the rain? Rain-X or something for plastic? The shields aren't glass, and rain-x is designed for glass.

    Happy rides!

I use Rain-X on my face shields, it has worked great for me. Don't forget to put some anti-fog stuff on the inside of your face shield as well. One of my shields is supposed to be anti-fog, yeah right, I have to use anti-fog stuff on it if I want to be able to see. I use some anti-fog stuff designed for diving goggles (its what I have laying around). I ride year round in the SF Bay area, I still want one of those finger wiper blade things but I do fine with just the Rain-x and anti-fog stuff.

I use regular car wax on my Concours windshield.

Anti fog treatment....shaving cream on the inside..rub in and wipe off. Give it a try on the bathroom mirror. Do a spot in the center then take a good hot shower..

+1 for the Rain-X on the visor. The bottle fits nicely into a tank bag and should last about forever.

For anti-fog, I've tried the pin-lock insert that came in my HJC, and I'm currently having better luck with the Fog City insert. I still haven't tried that one in as many situations yet, though. In cool weather with the Fog city, I've been able to fog the entire visor by breathing on it, except for the insert which was still clear. The pin-lock visor fogged almost half as much as the rest of the visor.

Pledge for me also, not only does your visor but cleans the whole bike.

I use Nikwax "Visor Proof" because I got a bottle for free. Pretty good stuff.

If your visor has an anti-scratch coating on it, DO NOT use Rain-X.

Not all of them do, so the guys who say they use it probably don't have one of them.

Personally, I use the same Meguiar's Cleaner Wax that I use on the bike.

Plexus and a blue disposable shop towel. Also works good on windshields too.
