    starter clutch questions

hey all, im in the process of changing my starter clutch, have read all the posts about the modification ect. my question is the use of loctite.........red or blue? and should I redo the new part or does it come with a sealer? the three allen head bolts , I seen a post about using the red sealer on the crank bolt and on the rotor taper as well ..........any input on that, also have thoughts on reinforcing the points on the new starter clutch where they just blow out............maybe a spot of weld ? or just leave it be and possibly not destroy new part, did see a neat mod where you install a ignition retard lever.................thanks to all who posted on this subject many times in the past, by the way I made my own puller from a doubled ended wheel stud M16x1.5 bought at autozone for $2.19 plus tax and two and two M16x1.5 (2)nuts @ $2.28 would have bought a bolt but couldnt find one..............the puller was over $35 bucks, also packed the rotor cavity with grease and used the slotted bolt that went into crank end , rotor came right off no problem.........thanks in advance

    starter clutch problems................

i,ve done mine twice now ,,,over the years ,,,,i used a small amount of red locktite.. along with new unbrako,s... its a waste of time re-using the old 1 again,,, make sure you smooth out the inside surface of the sheetmetal cover... ,,even using a largish flat oil stone.. regards oldgrumpy
