19mm fork disassembly tool (spark plug socket)

Hi all,

I found that one of my spark plug sockets has a 19mm hex on the top for a wrench. If you have a long (or enough) socket extensions just connect the extension(s) to inside of the spark plug socket and use the 19mm hex on the top of the socket to disassemble the forks. You might have to remove the foam ring that helps hold the spark plug in the socket.

I use this method and it works great. No need to make or buy a special tool.

Not all 19mm spark plug sockets are made to take the ratchet square drive "backwards" - a Craftsman plug socket does.

Yup, works great! I used to use a piece of ready rod with a square tapered end on it and just hammer it down into the fork until it took hold. This is a much more civilized and less violent solution.

I have used this method also. Works great. Just depends on your spark plug socket as mentioned.
