    no-sync needle adjustment, vm carbs

doing a lot of tuning? trying to find that perfect setting?
sick of having to sync your carbs every time you do a needle adjustment?
    I was.

    1. pull the tops off the carbs.
    2. remove the screw/bolt holding the bellcrank to the throttle shaft. (the pulley that the throttle cables are connected to)
    3. remove the little screws holding the lifters to the slides, the phillips ones down in there ( NOT the lifters to throttle shaft)
    4. rotate the throttle shaft until the lifters are clear of the slides, they will flip all the way up.
    5. lift out needles with needle nose pliers or hemostats and make adjustment
    6. reverse the steps.

edit; when re-installing the little screws it is extremely helpfull to have a magnetic screwdriver, and get the engine side screws started first(the ones closest to throttle shaft) that way you can lift the slides to make the other screws easier to install. make sure you get all the screws tight or you will lose your sync and have all sorts of strange issues.

this can be done with the carbs on the bike!

I apologize for not having pics, I dont have a digital camera.

    hope someone finds this usefull

Youre also unhooking the return spring arent you? If not, how you rotating the shaft far enough back to get the flanges to clear the top of the slide towers??? Is that BELL CRANK the real name of the what most call the throttle linkgaes?? Not being a smartazz here..Just curious as to if the bellcrank thing is the "linkage" the cables go into.

Yes. Bellcrank is the pulley that the throttle cables are connected to

Have you read up on Nessism's carb rebuild procedures posted on Basscliff's site? You don't need a video if you have them sitting right next to you.
