    New gloves, stained palms. Suggestions?

Any way to keep the dye from new gloves from staining your (my) hands?

They're these gloves, Power Trip brand "Grand National" gloves. The dye transferring to my hands isn't excessive, however it does make me look like I have dirty palms. I suspect it would be worse if it were hot out and I were sweating a lot.

I'm planning on getting a set of glove liners for the cooler days, so that should help a bit , however I'm seeking a longer-term solution.

Would a good soak and scrub in mild soapy solution do the trick, or exacerbate the problem?

Barrier cream before you put them on....

        Washing leather gloves? Shudder.
A light coating of cream on your hands, glove liners, some type of barrier. Unfortunately, a drum-dyed leather will bleed.
Try cleaning them with Saddle Soap.

I've washed leather before. It's only bad if you don't use the right soap, dry them properly, and treat them afterwards.

What are other methods of dying leather, as opposed to drum-dying?

Here is one I am familiar with. : Aniline dyeing
            There are others.

Wash them whilst wearing them, with ordinary hand soap on a warm day... ride to dry them out.

(Wear rubber gloves underneath if you don't want stained hands whilst doing this)
