    1100EZ helmet lock

Couldn't figure out where to put this, but does anyone have difficulty with the helmet lock?

One will open with a tug, even when it's "locked", but that's not my main issue. I have trouble reaching the clasp ring(s) on my helmet around the latch bar, and then snapping it locked.

Could the chin strap on the double ring side of modern helmets be longer than on my antique lid?

Once I do have it locked, I unfold the rear foot peg to support the helmet, but it's a real bitch to get it locked.

I open the visor and reach through from the inside.

Just tried it - seems easier.

      Thanks for the great tip!

I use an extension made for helmets. They're about 7 bucks for two. It's like a "t" you put through the buckle and has a hole at the end to go in the latch. I also made one (for my busa) using steel cable a washer and two cable clamps. Once done I used heat shrink tubing so there is no sharp pointed things to scratch the helmet. Both work very well. As for the lock it's self if it's like the one on the rest of the gs bikes they are very easy to clean and rebuild. That might help with the side that a good tug will release.

Would it be possible to see a picture of such a device?

            Thanks much.
