GS newbie with questions re: gs 400 specs
Since my 1984 XS 650 died, I am thinking of getting a 1981 GS400. I am tired of buying bad bikes tho, so I need to know what the compression should be, and what the best way is to check it. Also, what size fork seals would I need? And what size chain? I do have the front end of my XS still with perfectly good new rubber.....I was wondering if I could swap the whole forks and all with the GS, though I guessed that wouldn't work. What about the wheel?Tags: None

OK so maybe they are stupid questions. 8) But since I have all the parts kicking around anyway I wondered if I could use them. And I don't have a manual for a gs 400, so I have no idea what compression I am looking for in the cyls, and I would like to check that before I bought it.
