Of course it's "possible". Everything is possible. Expect to do a fair bit of fabrication work.Ed

Yep, you can.
It is easier than putting the 1100 version which is taller. I got some pics of several. Email if you want a couple.
Tnx

Ive done it. You have to modify the gsx600f front rubber mounts a bit by shaving 5-6mm off them. They do mount to the 550 frame tabs after you do that. Then the bottom rear engine mount on the 600 lines up perfectly with the 550 frame, all you would need is a spacer to tighten things up. The top rear needs a new bracket, I made one with some 1/2 inch 6061 aluminum stock i had. The bottom side motor mounts have to be remade. The left side frame mount is welded on... couple ways to do that. (1) cut off and reweld (2) remake tab by copying shape and bolt hole, keep in mind to add some length to "new" tab to weld back to 550 frame with enough strength.
The right side bottom mount I used the same 1/2 inch 6061 stock and drilled the frame bolt mounts, then moved the engine bolt hole appropriately(sp?).
In doing it this way I was able to line up the sproket, swing arm pivot and rear axle dead on inline. And the sprocket is as close to the pivot as the 550 one was before. As well as being able to get the way the 600 engine sits in the 550 frame with enough room for the carbs, being able to service the valves. Not to mention getting the valve cover back on after mounting the dang thing.
You will also need to remove the oil pan and oil pickup from the enging just to get it in the frame. Trust me, I have the pinched fingers to prove it.
I also used the gsx600f swingarm and wheel for chainline reasons.... plus i wanted monoshock. Hope this helps. It can be done! Good luck sir. Ill post pictures when im close to my computer.
