My question - Is it good practice to soak the new rubber parts in brake fluid prior to reinstallation?

Rear brake MC rebuild
Plunger was stuck and not returning on my rear master cylinder on a 1980 GS850GL. Got the old parts out with a little "persuasion". Going to get the bore cleaned out (looks to be in good shape) and ensure the return hole to the reservoir is clear. I have a K&L rebuild kit.

Check the bore for pits. If damaged, the rebuild won't work.
No need to soak the parts. Just coat them before install, along with the bore.
And where you are in there, be sure to break down the caliper for a good clean out, if you haven't done it already. And replace the brake line and lubricate the pivot point for the lever.Ed
To measure is to know.
