The spoke wheel hub was made to accomodate 2 discs, as was the mag wheel.
Both used sealed bearings.
Suzuki had some setups with 1 disc, both on the spoke wheel and the mag wheel.
On the twin disc setup that bearing is not protected by a plastic cover.
My take on this, the sealed bearings are up to the job keeping dirt out.
And while i agree the plastic cover keeps dirt out of the unused threaded holes because that 2nd disc is not there,
i do not think it does anything for the longevity of that bearing.
Aesthetics in my opinion.Rijk
