I was in the camp that thought 82-83 were the same except the finish. 82 chrome - 83 black. looking at the rear foot peg / exhaust hanger casting its obvious those are different parts that makes me wonder if the mount point on the exhausts are different.

On a side note - I notice scratches on both swingarms in the pics, Mine has that too. ??? Is there that much swingarm flex? I've often thought that's where my high speed weave comes from. Yes, I have changed the swing arm bearings.......

I'm not certain of that, I thought I was careful to get one off the E but I don't remember what the ebay listing said now haha

what wheel/tyre does it have on it? Assuming 4.5” wheel and a 160 profile tyre? That’s about the max without more work…
        yeah looks like it's a 160/60 on a 17 inch rim

It’s the width of rim rather than dia but a 160 would be stretched on a 5.5 rim so I guess high have the 4.5. It still may have new slightly stretched out to help with clearances.

Very little swing arm flex with the "built-up box section aluminum swing arm" on the '82 11E (the quotes are from the July '82 Cycle World review). And no high speed wobble (it's not one of the old Kawasaki 'Widow Makers').

I've never had mine over 120 mph, but even there she plays 'look Ma, no hands!' with no complaints.
