my options so far are to get some CB shocks and grind my lower mounts, or get a custom set from IKON. That is, unless somebody here knows something I don't. Which is highly probable. Oh yeah, you guys all like pics, so here ya go!

GS750L rear shocks
Does anybody know of a longer, off the shelf shock that will fit an 80 GS750L? I know some CB750 shocks are 14.25" long, but the lower clevis is narrower. I am looking for a 14.25" rear shock set, to raise the rear end about an inch. I need it to raise the battery box farther from the rear tire. i also plan on stiffer springs.

I have a set of piggyback shocks that are longer. They are eye to eye but you can unscrew the bottom one & make up your own clevis for it.....
If you can weld that's some bent steel sheet & a bolt! Hardest bit would be finding a bolt of the right thread.

Possible the thread is a 14mm spark plug thread... looks similar but I haven't measured it.
