The master cylinder came from a 78 gs750. Does anyone know where I can find a new reservoir with this shape-or one that will fit the same diameter?

Master cylinder -angled reservoir?
I am rebuilding a Suzuki dual caliper master cylinder. No problem finding a rebuild kit. But- the reservoir has an angle to it. No part like this appears on any parts fiches I can find. I want sa new one so Ican strip down the mc body to get at the tiny pressure release hole.

I have never had to remove the reservoir to clean out the return hole.

I did. My reservoir has small covers at the bottom, one of which hovers right above the relief (?) hole (the smaller of the two). Nonetheless, the reservoir came off with two screws. Went back on that way, too.

Sounds like a L master cylinder.
This is the 79 GS1000L master.
The angle works great with clubman bars.

The old one should go right back on unless it's damaged.. You may want to replace the O-ring.

The reservoirs usually yellow with age & go kind of brittle... I have replaced a couple. I think it's the UV's out here on the west coast combined with age...
Last one I bought was about $15 at flatout or similar.

Thanks for the help everyione. I have a 1980 750L master cylinder. I have ordered a new reservoir. The return hole is covered by the bottom of the reservoir, and is on hard.
it is a bit yellow with age. I don't think I can remove it without damage. Removing the 2 screws loosens nothing. Are these a press fit? Suggestions?

Not a press fit exactly, just hell for tight on the O-ring sealing the reservoir.Last edited by Nessism; 06-21-2010, 08:35 AM.Ed
