are gs wheels interchangeable?

i have a 83 gs450

will different sizes gs's have the same size wheels?

I know that a 1980 GS450L has a 19 in front wheel and a 16 in rear wheel.

from what i can tell they all seem to be 19/16

There's a huge variety

Front - 19, 16
Rear - 18,17,16

It's not the wheels size, but the axle size that varies

The 19" wheel on my GS 1000 has a larger axle, it won't bolt up to you 450 with mods

well the issue is..

i found a parts bike 81 gs650

with brand new tires.. just trying to see if i can swap them out

Might fit. You might have to make new spacers / change wheel bearings etc. I'm not familiar with your exact bike (we didn't get it over here) but a lot of stuff swaps about pretty easily if you think about it and can make simple mods.

If your bike has a rear drum brake it'll be a lot more work though (650 was disc rear).
