450 fork compatability

I have a 1983 GS 450 E and am in need of a lower fork tube for the left side. What year/model 450 forks can I use that would be a direct replacement? The fork is the only thing holding me up from having the bike ready for my 17 year old son.

Thanks so much for the information. Now I will be able to get the bike going for my son. I will get some pictures of the bike once its fixed. Still don't know if my son wants to leave it stock or turn it into a cafe racer.
