    Is dual calipers possible

Hey fellas. I'm planning on mounting a V&H Sidewinder pipe on my '81 1000GL. I know there is a clearance issue with these pipes so I'm also planning on mounting an 18 inch front wheel off a 450 instead of the stock 19. But I'd also like to keep the dual calipers. Does anybody know if this can be done by using parts out of both wheels. Now that I think about it, when I did my fork seals a couple weeks back ,I went to measure the fork spring lengths to see if they were within range and the measurements were not even close to any in my manual which covers 850 to 1000. My headlight ears are not the same as what babbitt's online shows they should be either. I'm thinking the po might have put a 750 front end on this bike if that's possible. He had a small business where he would take in some smashed bikes and use the good parts to make one roadworthy bike. I was a little hesitant when I added the fork oil because of the possible difference between 750 and 1000 fork oil amount. So I added what the 1000 called for and now it feels a little spongy. So, after much rambling on... Can I somehow turn the 18 inch wheel off the 450 into dual rotors ...thanks.C.C

    Yes,
If you remove the black plastic hub cap on the right side, the holes are already here and treaded.you can bolt your rotors on both side.I can mesure the length of the 1000GL fork that i removed from my bike.(From middle of the spindle and the top cap).
