    Rear Brake Issue

So on my way into work today, I swore something was weird about the rear brake as I was going all the way to stop without dropping off any speed whatsoever. When I get there I see this all over my rear tire:

and notice the reservoir is empty. The banjo bolt is dry and tight as well as the bleeder valve but I noticed some wetness around one area of the caliper near one of the bolts. If I'm right this is the area where the o-ring went that I installed in the caliper near that small hole. However, I remember noticing when I tightened it the caliper was not completely joined together around that oring so I'm wondering if the oring slipped out on me. It was a OEM oring and came in the rebuild kit I got for the caliper.

I'll take the caliper apart tomorrow morning (just won't use rear brake on ride home tonight) but I want to get it fixed ASAP as I am supposed to go on a ride with a friend Sunday at noon. Any thoughts as to other ideas or how to make sure everything is sealed correctly?

Unless that O ring got damaged, just disassemble, clean and carefully reassemble the caliper this time. Get the correct O ring if it is damaged

Bleed it and you're good to go

Clean all that brake fluid off soon

Thanks Big T. If that part of the caliper doesn't tighten all the way down around the oring, could the stock one be the wrong part? Should I try getting a different one or could I just not be tightening it enough (allen bolt wouldn't move any further the last time I did it)?

So after checking it again and noticing it only oozed out of the oring location of the caliper, I tightened the allen head bolts and voila problem solved. Either I just didn't tighten it enough the first time or it worked itself loose. I'll keep an eye on it on Sunday (prob my last ride for awhile) and if needed I'll get a new oring later.
