Looking for a single front rotor for my 78 1000 that is drilled. Anyone know of another model year that will pretty much bolt on ?? . Don't want to drill my stock rotor as i want to keep it in case i want to go back with the stock rotor. The rear is not an issue. Was going to go with dual rotors, but don't want the extra weight..

'80 GS1000E, Model ET The '80 E model came stock with drilled disks. Although there two disks. You can go to BassCliff's site, go to the service manual to page 15-23. There is a caution not to reverse the disks, but you only need the correct one, and I can't remember if it's right or left.sigpic

You can use on from 1981 and up 650l, and 750t.
I have one here off a 650l, its a bolton replacement of the single 1000c single disc.
Only the thickness is not the same.

I'm thinking i'm going to have to obtain a single and have it drilled. Most of the later models are dual disc. Was hoping for a cheaper alternative. The machine shops are proud of their shop time. Have already located a rear drilled disc of an 81 gs1000 to go on the rearComment

If you have a rotor just drill it. Buy a second one on ebay IF you want to change back to stock.
You can drill it yourself as long as you have a drill press. There are threads here about guys that have done it.Ed
