    Wheel replacement for 85 GS550L

Hey gang, I have an 85 GS550L bobber and need some assistance. I was wondering if anyone knows of a readily available direct replacement spoked/laced rear wheel for the 550? I've already got a Sportster 21" spoked front and would love to have a spoked rear wheel without having to do any modifications. I know I've found a comprehensive list of replacement forks but I haven't seen a list of wheels that work. Any help is appreciated.

I don't know for certain, but some of the early gs models (76 and 77 year models) used spoked wheels, they may be adaptable if not direct fit. Most likely will need to check spacing and bush appropriately.

What kind of modifications were required for the sportster front wheel? I would like spokes on my 1985 GS550L, for the look and weight savings, and preferably a slightly larger front wheel too, but would preffer something as close to bolt-in as possible. I dont have a shop for major changes, just a garage and half a box full of tools.

The only thing that was done was spacers to get the wheel centered. Granted, I sacrificed the front brake but in reality if you put a HD rotor on it and picked up a used HD caliper/master cylinder you could get a bracket made for it to work on the stock fork.
