    18" speedo drive?

I want to put an 18" on the front of my 79 GS1000, can I use a speedo drive off a different model to keep it accurate? maybe a gs400/450 or something?

Hi Matt, I recently had issues with my speedo and it turned out that the speedo drive on the front wheel was stripped. I managed to find one at my local bike wreckers and being lazy, I decided to just slap one on and use it, but my speedo was reading off.

I stripped it out and discovered that it had a different amount of teeth on it so I had to go and get 3 more and I use them to build one really good one.

Some of the ones I got were from the GS450's and they were to suit the 18" front wheel so YES they should work with no issues at all!
