Master cylinder reassembly
This is not a GS question but I know I can get the correct answer here. I took the rear master cylinder apart on my XS1100 to clean the 20 year old goop out. It didn't come apart easily and I couldn't see order the parts came out. I'm calling the brake line end the front for explaination purposes. There is a spring which obviously goes in first but is it big end or small end first, then there is a cup seal and a flat washer. Which of these goes first? Does the cup side of the seal face forward? How about the seal on the piston, face forward or backward? I looked in the manual I downloaded but the pictures are horrible.Tags: None

Is this picture any better?
It shows the "front" end to the left.
The small end of the spring faces the plunger.
All the "cups" should flare toward the "front" or the "exit".
