    urethane rear shock bushings?

    years ago, I helped my brother replace the rubber bushings on his 65 Mustang with polyurethane bushings. I wonder if they are available for the GS bikes, or barring that, if anyone has a good source on urethane cylinders of the appropriate size, because then I'd make my own.

    Basscliff, I saw your post (http://www.thegsresources.com/_forum...02&postcount=6) in this thread (http://www.thegsresources.com/_forum...640#post994640). That's a great idea, but I would imagine polyurethane would be even better?

    That's something you would have to make on your own Very doable if you have a lathe
    & drill press. I would Cut the old shock(outer part that holds the bushing) so that you can get the old bushing out and use the shells..

      I'm just wondering if I can get the appropriate size bushings somewhere, rather than re-inventing the wheel. I've seen sites like this:



      I'll have to measure the bushings and see if they have the right size with the right size hole.

        Suspension bushing on a car are totally different than shock bushings on a GS. You won't gain anything on the bike unless your bushings are already shot. There is no side load on the shocks so it doesn't really matter if the bushings are shot as long as the shocks don't clunk around.

          I just was thinking that anything I could do to improve the handling, even something small, might help. One of these days I'm going to put heavier fork oil in and get a fork brace, and maybe even upgrade the rear shocks.
