Looked into Progressive 12- or 14- series shocks and springs?
To paraphrase another member "They were originally designed for 110-lb. Japanese test riders. 30 years hasn't made them any better."

i posted this, then went and bought new shocks online. I came back to delete it but you guys are to fast!

I've used stock shocks on most of my various GS bikes and they have been fine. Unless you are a heavyweight, the stock parts are decent enough assuming they are not worn out.Ed
