    850GZ Sportif

So, a friend urged me to de-tourify my '82 GS850GZ and make her more of a road gobbler.

So, I dropped the triple tree so the tops of the fork tubes stick out by half an inch (to sharpen the steering) and put on Bikemaster European handlebars. Tucking the extra wiring and cables required some fiddling. The rear suspension is set at the highest setting and the front already had Progressives. Replacing a couple of (missing) bolts on the front fender helped too.

So, the verdict...What a transformation. The bike really handles well. The riding position is forward leaning, but not uncomfortable.

        Thanks!

BassCliff and Daniel. Thanks for the warm welcome and truly amazing wealth of information. I used to post under CCMcC, but signed up again. I do need to get some pictures up. Especially to show the "Ducati" racing stripe i had painted on the tank and rear cowling; hence the Zukati moniker.

I do love this old bike. Can't believe she's going to turn 30 next year.

All the best to you both,

        Caleb
