should my rear brakes drag slightly?

The stock Bandit caliper on my bandit swingarm fitted to my 80 gs 1100 appears to be dragging slightly. Caliper is rebuilt, pads are new.

What can I adjust to fix this?
    80 gs1100 16-v ported & polished, 1 mm oversize intake valves, 1150 carbs w/Dynojet stage 3, plus Bandit/gsxr upgrades

slight drag is common with a rebuilt caliper and new pads, if the wheel turns reasonably easy by hand its ok. once ridden for a few times and everything beds in it will be fine

Just remember, an opinion without 3.14 is just an onion!

      Hi,

Yep, mine have a little contact. The pads just touch the rotor, but not enough to cause any serious drag.

      Thank you for your indulgence,

It will eventually go away the more you use it

To speed up the procsess I always took some emery cloth and scuffed up the rotor on both sides enough to get rid of the shine, this will also put a stop to that annoying squeal you get once and a while with your brakes.
