    No rear brakes!

I was riding home this evening and lost the rear brake. I push the pedel down and it goes all the way to the pipe. I cracked open the bleeder valve and pushed the pedel no fluid.. Sounds like a bad master cylinder?

    What's in the reservoir then?

Sounds like its time for a rebuild.

Or maybe a new brake line

Refill it with fresh fluid, bleed it and see where the fluid comes out when you depress the pedal (in the garage only)

The reservoir is full, with good clean fluid changed out last year.

If it's full and nothing is coming out the brake line then to me it sounds like you need to rebuild the MC, calipers, and replace the brake lines with a set of stainless steel ones.

I'll bet you find some interesting stuff inside your brakes

              Take pictures

After you've done the rear, do the front ones

32 year old brake fluid has taken it's toll on your 3000 mile GS750, and you are lucky to still be alive. Do not screw around with brakes. You need to completely dissasemble and rebuild your brakes. I guarantee inside your calipers and M/C is the familiar 32 year old "brake fluid spooge" , and most likely a lot of corrosion within the internals of the brake components as well.

                    One what?

Go back to your megawelcome and check the vendor list

                    You'll need

                    MC rebuild kit

Caliper O rings, possibly piston (these all come in a kit)

                    SS brake line

You'll have to take the caliper and MC apart first to see what you need

As noted, your 32 year old bike needs some freshening up

You should tear down your front brakes and do the same

No I seen the mega welcome. I was wondering if someone has one that is rebuilt and they are parting it off. Trying to save some time/money in tools.

Check the Parts for Sale forum - but it will likely need to be rebuilt anyway
