Is this tire tread facing the right direction ? I'm grabbing at straws now.

Hi,
I would loosen everything up and slide the axle out. Then loosen the pinch bolts on the bottom of the right fork and make sure that bushing is flush with the outside edge before tightening up the pinch bolts again. Then see if you can put it all back together.
Thank you for your indulgence,

Uhhh.....my Avon RR's have practicaly the same tread design, and they Called for the tread to be facing the Other way......?
But as long as the arrows on your tire point to the correct direction, you're fine.

Hi,
Yes, check the arrow on the sidewall for proper direction of rotation.
Thank you for your indulgence,

Arrow has been checked. A-OK. Tried installing from the right side, without axle, no success. Including liberal use of a block of wood and hammer. I am starting to think it might be the wrong bushing, from a recent shop tire change. My bushing sticks out both sides of the fork. Just pm'd svsooke to see if his does too.Old age and treachery will beat youth and skill every time1983 GS 750

Man, I'm an idiot!! Have been wracking my brains trying to figure out what I did to create this situation. Occam's Razor !! The one thing I did differently was to leave the fender off, but reinstalled the brace. As the fender goes inside the brace, I didn't account for the thickness of the fender on both sides. Should have put washers in to compensate. Left the fender off for later painting. Just thought I would update in case somebody else has the same problem. I have not done this yet, but I am pretty sure this is the problem. Will post once job completed.Old age and treachery will beat youth and skill every time1983 GS 750
