    Rear upper shock mount bolt

Does anyone know what size this is? Mine is missing and need to replace, but I cannot find out what size it is for the life of me. Z1 doesn't seem to to have it either.

    Hi,

Part# 09145-10001, $1.77 at Partshark.com. Sorry, I know this doesn't help you with the bolt size.

EDIT: I'm sorry, the above is for the nuts, not bolts. I thought the upper shock bolts were welded on the frame?

    Thank you for your indulgence,

    BassCliff

Not sure if we are talking about the same part, but the rear upper shock mount bolt on my '82 GS1100GL has a 10x1.25 thread. I had one of the threads shear off of mine so I bought a bolt locally, cut the head of it off and welded the threaded portion onto the stud. Worked like a charm.

Thank you to both of you, at least I know where to order it online now if I cannot find it locally.

UncleBen, it's the nut that goes on the bolt that the top of the rear shock mounts to, right below the seat.

10 sounds right - I just ordered as many SS fasteners from Z1 as I could and wasn't sure of that measurement either, so I ordered 5 of every acorn nut. Oddly enough, SS metric fasteners are hard to find in Canada (at least in my corner). I'm not sure why I have to go back to you non-metric Americans to get my metric nuts and bolts, but I make sure to order in bunches so I don't have to wait 2 weeks everytime I need something new.

It's an M10 -1.25. I just went to the local fastener company and they measured it for me. They didn't have any though

Just had to confirm on the Z1 site - their acorns are 1.5 - it did seem to be a tight fit but couldn't have been that bad, considering that all 4 threaded on without major difficulty!
