Whats aspect ratio?? All i know is the 130 is 130MM wide..90 is 90MM tall from the rim to the tread surface and the 17 is the rim size.
    MY BIKES..1977 GS 750 B, 1978 GS 1000 C (X2)
    1978 GS 1000 E, 1979 GS 1000 S, 1973 Yamaha TX 750, 1977 Kawasaki KZ 650B1, 1975 Honda GL1000 Goldwing, 1983 CB 650SC Nighthawk, 1972 Honda CB 350K4, 74 Honda CB550

NEVER SNEAK UP ON A SLEEPING DOG..NOT EVEN YOUR OWN.

I would rather trust my bike to a "QUACK" that KNOWS how to fix it rather than a book worm that THINKS HE KNOWS how to fix it.

130/90-17 The 90 means the height is 90% of the 130mm width. So the aspect ratio is 90.

The metric tires started up in the early 80s

        I haven't seen a 4.50 tire since I can't remember when.

          Just heard from Dunlop.
"Thank you for taking the time to contact Dunlop Motorcycle & ATV.

Look for the letters DOT. Will be only on one side of the tire.
After the letters DOT there is an alpha-numeric sequence approximately 10-12 characters long.
The last three digits of this sequence will give you the date. Will be stamped on tire.
          example: 349...will be 34th week of 1989 or 1999

Through 1999 three digits were used.

As of 2000 four digits were used.
          example 3409.....34th week of 2009.

Should you need further information or assistance, please call Dunlop Consumer Affairs @ 800-845-8378
          or e-mail us.

Doesn't mention the triangle, but DOT DA1X M86119 is an "alpha-numeric sequence approximately 10-12 characters long". I'm still going with the 11th week of 1989.

Not trying to beat a dead horse here, just trying to learn something about dating tires. An update from Dunlop.

              In case you did not receive the last e-mail message I sent ;
              Here is a copy:
